In the tight Illinois House 45th District race, unofficial results appear to show challenger Democrat Jennifer Ladisch Douglass ahead of incumbent Deanne Mazzochi (R-Elmhurst) with vote counting nearly over two weeks after Election Day. Unofficial vote totals in DuPage County through 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, show Ladisch Douglass leading by 251 votes out of a total of 42,143 votes tallied, the thinnest of margins at a little over half of 1 %. With portions of the district in suburban Cook County, unofficial vote tallies there show Ladisch Douglas ahead with 667 votes to Mazzochi's 575.
